rough draft of t-shirt graphic for CTR 10k

hey guys! I just thought I would post the rough draft for the CTR 10k shirt.. it's going to be all colored in of course( sky blue, the sun orange, the mtns and background dark green, the bears are going to be black with white muzzles) and have the race name, date and "Freedom to Be" on it. I am very excited about the shirt this year! and it's going to be on the same technical fiber shirt we used last year. The race shirts are going to be royal blue and the volunteer shirts are going to be red.

  2. thanks rick! I drew it! I feel doing the shirt myself makes it more personable and meaningful. It's alot of pressure though to draw something that will make everyone happy.. make my family happy, make the runners happy, make me happy:o) It's just very hard for me sometimes to work on, because I have to face WHY I am drawing it, and WHY I am putting on the race. It can be hard at times. My brother Todd LOVES black bears( that is why I had a bear on last year's shirt too) and being in the mountains. He was VERY outdoorsy. I think he would definitely like the graphic too. :o) I just can't wait to see the proof from the screen printers, because that is when it comes to life!

  3. Jenny, I had no idea you were an artist. I can't draw a stick man. Todd would definetely approve and be happy with what his sister has done and is doing in his memory. Rick

  4. not really an artist:oP I like to say "jack of all trades and master of none." there are so many people who do REALLY amazing work in abingdon.. I'm just an arts and crafts geek! ( who is obsessed with running ha ha-- and quickly becoming engrossed with trail running) I have to run a 13 miler for my long run with my marathon training that begins this week.. and it's like :GROAN!!! I have to run 13 miles on the creeper and I dread it! I got a new girlie nathan hydration pack in my zombie runner order so I can be cool like everyone else today.. and I'm SO bummed because I want to be trail running with it this weekend.. instead of what I have to do.. maybe I can swing it where I can do both.. :o) maybe i can wear the nathan pack and just "pretend":o)

  5. I guess we are all geeks in regards to certain things. Certainly nothing wrong with that. Zombie is a great place to shop. You will enjoy your new Nathan pack. Have a great time on the Creeper. Rick

  6. yeah, I should just be thankful I am well enough and have the opportunity to run on the creeper, and if I want to gain speed and be stronger, this run is needed.
two things I noticed immediately about the nathan pack. it fits MUCH better than the north face ones that I owe and dean karanazes swears by. I dont think there will be much jostling around because it seems like it's apart of you.. and I have a nathan racing vest and I LOVE all the pockets on the front. so very happy about that... wish it came in some different colors because EVERYONE I know has blue.. I think I am going to sew a patch on it or something to make it mine-- :o)
I guess I'll just use the northface ones for biking now:o)

  7. Other packs have a bit more storage compacity in them, but they are not designed just for running. The blue is Nathans new color for women. It use to be teal. You will like it, but the little clip thing for the hose does not always work well. The magnet that you have on your Northface will probably work better. I have thought about trying to rigg something up and see how it works. The Creeper is nice for faster stuff, but long runs do get a bit boring as compared to the trails.
